About her
I'm an independent, soulful, and young-at-heart woman who is comfortable in her skin. I'm a creative person who has a way with words! Yep, writing (and to some degree making art) is my thing. By that I mean poetry for the page and stage, creative nonfiction which could be in the form of art review essays, interviews with people of cultural importance, blogging about black cultural events, and journaling. I'm also not bad at editing and have done my fair share of independently publishing anthologies of creative writing. This love of writing means that I'm also an avid reader.
I'm committed to lifelong learning (you're never too old to learn) and have been studying for the past four years which has taken me on some rather fascinating and challenging journeys with my writing and kept me busy during the pandemic. I did that because I wanted to expand my knowledge of certain subjects so that I could write about them with the depth that they deserved. I can be quite philosophical about life and sometimes I do overthink things but mostly, I'm quite down-to-earth and enjoy a good laugh like most of us.
I'm a sociable person and enjoy dining out, but I mostly enjoy cooking at home from scratch. I've been a vegan for 5 years and before that I was a vegetarian for 16 years. I'm not into pubs (I'm not a drinker) but I don't mind the occasional drink at a cocktail bar. I really like visiting art exhibitions, walks in the park. The simple things in life become that much more enhanced with good companionship! That said, romance is welcome since I can be somewhat sentimental and appreciate romantic and affectionate gestures — holding hands, hugs.
I practice yoga a few times a week. My favourite sport to watch is tennis.
About her ideal match
I used to believe in an ideal match, but that ideology doesn't really work. I do have my preferences, so it helps if you are tall, dark and handsome (I know that sounds a bit cliche) and it helps if you are somewhat left-wing as I’m strong on equality issues and absolutely believe in zero tolerance when it comes to racism and sexism.
Most important is how kind and genuine a person you are and how sincere you are on this site because our time on this planet is short so let's not waste any of it. I am seeking a life partner, a soulmate who I can laugh (and sometimes cry) with, have intellectual discussions with, someone to sit in silence with (we don't always have to talk), someone who I can be myself with, and someone who is emotionally available and who is willing to put in the energy and effort to make a partnership work which I guess involves listening to each other.
