I'm a home-owner; retired, active, fit and healthy. Physically and mentally I'm about 60 but my birth certificate says 70. I'm friendly and sociable, in a calm way, a long time ex-smoker and I have all original parts except for the teeth.
After over 38 years of marriage I've now been agreeably separated for more than 12 months. I've recently started to look for a female companion with whom I can share new life experiences.
I'm a novice but fully-licensed motorcyclist, an advanced beginner acoustic guitarist, and a local history buff. I also research family history. I'm extremely good at diy and tech stuff. I enjoy musical theatre, watching good films, listening to music on Spotify (Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, contemporary folk/rock), I keep up with current affairs (not the junk we are fed with). I enjoy good pub grub plus the occasional restaurant meal, I prefer the countryside to beaches/cities, I like the atmosphere of the past at historical sites. I still enjoy beating younger guys at a pool table.
I dislike most poetry, and most opera. I'm not an avid book reader, not a sports fan, not into rubbish TV, not into beach holidays nor into sun-bathing and I'm no good at golf nor skiing. I'm a common sense type of individual and far from being an intellectual type, although also far from being stupid.
I have a tux and suits but I prefer to wear smart casual or scruff. I dislike wearing ties.
I've travelled when younger and I've lived in other countries. I would like to go on a cruise, however, I'd prefer to go on a smaller ship rather than on a floating hotel. I'm thinking about going on a quiet coach tour around parts of Europe, sooner rather than later.
If I'm lucky enough to make a connection on here that clicks I won't try to rush into things. What will be will be I guess.

Back in the real world, I'd like to casually take up with someone who is confident, independent, lively, not too serious, active, optimistic, educated, daring, well travelled, countryside-loving and kind, who is a music lover who dislikes large crowds, queueing, and boozy beach holidays and who wants company without a life-long commitment. I'd like that person to be fit and healthy and probably younger than me.
