I’m Mike .. my friends call me MTP.
Mike the Pilot. I have flown since I was 18 and professionally since I left university.
Does this define me? Well literally I suppose so.
I am also a below knee amputee.
I lobbed myself down a ravine in France on a motorcycle. I wasn’t being heroic like so many of my BLESMA friends.
This doesn’t define me. But it has a bearing on the amount of socks I buy.
I have lived an unusual life. I am a RAF Gulf War veteran .. Somalia and Rwanda too .. im a motivational speaker trying to pass on my experiences of resilience in adversity to schoolchildren.
I was very proud to have lead the world’s first disabled air display team.
Last year I drove in a convoy to Kyiv and Lviv to support Ukrainian amputees. Ukraine is very close to my heart.
I’m a lifelong aviator. I love to fly .. as much today as I did when I started 42 years ago. Still flying long haul .. mostly to China. Small planes too still
I am an incurable romantic. I have a lot of love to give.
