Friends might describe me as independent, introverted, intelligent, loyal, funny, thoughtful.
I like relaxed conversation, good food and the great outdoors. I dislike party politics and dumbed down popular culture.
After a long and successful career in IT I finally retired at the end of October 2024 and enjoyed a fantastic trip to Costa Rica in November. In 2025 I plan to visit the Knepp estate in the summer and Iceland in November.
I am excited about getting a Border Terrier puppy in January as until now circumstances have never been ideal for having a dog. I enjoy walking and a bit of wildlife watching and am also a new convert to the joys of gardening. I love cooking and baking and trying local restaurants. I like to read and listen to audiobooks and podcasts. I'm happiest in casual clothes but can look smart if absolutely required. I like cars; the combustion engine variety. I have two grown up children and follow their lives with interest and pride.
I believe in free speech and find the extreme causes, cancel culture and media witch hunts of today disturbing. Finally, I think life is what you make it and that we are each responsible for our own happiness.

I’m looking for a kind, thoughtful and outgoing man who thinks for himself and can be both serious and silly. Not too intense or needy; someone relaxed in their own skin, and positive in outlook.
